Featured on AutoHunter, the web public sale platform pushed by ClassicCars.com, is that this restored 1968 Mustang California Special. This Ford is powered by a 289cid V8 backed by a C4 automated transmission. Features embrace particular GT/CCS stripes and symbols, fiberglass trunk lid and non-functional rear quarter extensions, Classic Auto Air local weather management system, and extra. Finished in Presidential Blue with white stripes over two-tone Aqua vinyl inside, this Mustang (which is listed within the California Special Registry) comes with a Marti Report, engine rebuild receipts and photos, and clear title within the vendor’s title.

Only 3,867 California Special Mustangs have been produced for the 1968 mannequin 12 months for Ford’s western area (plus there have been a further 251 earmarked because the High Country Special for the Denver district). The Presidential Blue (code X) exterior is accented by white GT/CS stripes. Features embrace Lucas fog lights, particular black grille, chrome hood locks, twin facet mirrors, non-functional fiberglass Shelby-style rear quarter extensions, and Shelby sequential taillights, amongst different objects.

A set of 14-inch Styled Steel Wheels with trim rings and GT heart caps is wrapped in 215/70R14 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.

The inside has been upgraded from the usual “2B” normal Blue buckets to “2K” two-tone Aqua. Features embrace Deluxe steering wheel, energy steering, floor-mounted transmission shifter, Classic Auto Air local weather management system, AM radio, and NOS kick panels.

The instrument panel features a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the gasoline stage, alternator, oil stress, and coolant temperature. The odometer reads 143,609 miles, although it’s at the moment inoperative.

Power is supplied by a rebuilt 289cid V8 bored 30 over and topped by a Holley Street Avenger two-barrel. The engine is reportedly authentic, as is the rebuilt C4 three-speed automated transmission. The vendor states that a lot of the engine and underhood elements function NOS elements.

This Mustang was factory-equipped with an impartial entrance suspension and a stable rear-drive axle. Braking is supplied by energy entrance discs and rear drums. Less than a decade in the past, new steering elements, entrance disc brakes, and suspension elements entrance and rear have been put in. A brand new twin exhaust system, rear brakes, and brake strains have been added in 2020.
