While attending the 2022 Barrett-Jackson Houston public sale, the AutoHunter Cinema group bumped into this uncommon 1954 Kaiser Darrin. With solely 435 constructed, the Kaiser Darrin is most well-known for being the primary fiberglass sports activities automobile and patented, sliding pocket doorways. This one-year-only restricted manufacturing car was designed by well-known coachbuilder Howard “Dutch” Darrin and produced by industrialist Henry J. Kaiser’s Kaiser-Willys Corporation. All Darrins had been powered by an L-head 161ci 6- Willys Hurricane-6 engine mated to a floor-mounted three-speed guide transmission with overdrive.
